Project Overview: In this five-week workshop, students will examine the planning, constructing, and interpreting of Auguste Bartholdi's colossal "Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World." Through their participation, the students will learn a variety of fundamental research skills that will assist them in their future school work as well as prepare them for later historical research workshops with the Center for Academic Excellence. The students' final projects will be presented in expository essays and accompanying graphics on a timeline hosted by Xtimeline.com.
